about

I’m Jamila, born and raised in Cape Town with German roots—so I’ve always felt a connection to Berlin, too.

My relationship with food started early, shaped by curiosity, independence, and years of hands-on experience across markets, cafés, and kitchens. While I later trained at Le Cordon Bleu in London, much of what I know comes from real-world kitchens, developing recipes, working in catering, and learning the rhythm of restaurants in both Cape Town and Berlin.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve been creating food for fashion brands—designing dishes that reflect the mood, story, and identity of a collection. Collaboration sits at the heart of what I do, bringing together food, creativity, and visual storytelling.

Studio Jamila is my space for this: creating thoughtful, immersive experiences rooted in connection, care, and creativity - where people can come together, feel at ease, and share something meaningful.

With love,

Jamila
